Soldier of Fortune Cheat Guide
Enable the Console Before you can use cheat codes with Soldier
of Fortune, you have to enable the console. How, you ask?
Follow these instructions:
1) Move your mouse down to the corner of your screen and choose
"Start" or hit the Windows key on your keyboard.
2) Next choose "Find", then "Files and Folders".
3) Type "SoF.exe" in the "Named:" box, and make sure "Look
in:" says "My Computer" by using the dropdown box.
4) Click "Find Now". It will take a minute while your hard
drive is searched for the Soldier of Fortune .exe file.
5) When it has located the file (as you'll see in the box
below the search items), hit the "Stop" button.
6) Right click the SoF.exe file and choose "Create Shortcut".
Answer "Yes" to the question that pops-up.
7) Close the "Find" window and minimize all other programs.
8) On your desktop, right click the icon that says, "Shortcut
to SoF.exe", then choose "Properties".
9) In the box next to "Target:", add +set console 1 to the
end of the line. So the whole shortcut should look something
like: Target: "C:\Program Files\Raven\SOF\SoF.exe" +set console
1
Choose OK and you're done!
Enable Cheats Are you ready to cheat yet? There are just a
few more steps... Start up Soldier of Fortune using the shortcut
you created on your desktop. Once you've loaded up your game
or started a new game, bring down the console by hitting the
~ key (next to 1). Type /cheats 1 at the console. Now you
may enter in any of the following cheats by typing them exactly
as they appear into the console
(note: cheats do not work on both "Challenging" and "Unfair"
difficulty settings).

A Brief Explanation Of The Cheats
And Their Origins:
heretic = Makes you impervious to harm
from enemies, enemy weapons, explosions and falling damage
inside the game. The term is a tribute to Raven's historic
Heretic/HeXen franchise of games.
phantom = Allows you to clip through walls, floors, doors
and objects like a ghost or phantom, as the case may be.
ninja = Makes you invisible to the enemies in the game. When
ninja mode is on, the enemies and characters all stand around
in their idle animations and are oblivious to your presence.
Handy for running through levels as a spectator to see how
they are set up.
elbow = Gives you the first 6 weapons in the game and a sizeable
chunk of ammunition for each. Elbow comes from the phrase
"I'm going to drop the elbow on this guy." It's a Raven homage
to professional wrestling.
big elbow = A bigger homage to professional wrestling: "Feel
the power of the BIG elbow!" Gives you the six big guns in
the game an ammunition for them.
kill = Standard command for Quake II engine games that suicides
the player. Best used if you find yourself stuck and unable
to move out of an area in multiplayer or other times when
you're unable to use the phantom cheat.
matrix = The matrix command allows you to speed up or slow
down the game. The normal speed of the game is 1.0, but you
can adjust it to go faster or slower. For example: If you
want the game to move at ¼ speed to take some action screenshots,
you would type "timescale .25" at the console. We think the
reference is fairly obvious, don't you?
gimme = The command to spawn weapons, items, enemies and anything
else that can be spawned into the game. Once again, we think
the reference is pretty obvious.

Spawn Characters and Enemies:
Bring down the console by pressing the
~ key (default) and use the console command listed to bring
these enemies into the game world right in front of your eyes.
If, for example, you want to spawn a snow cat vehicle from
the Siberian mission, you would type gimme m_x_snowcat and
hit . Just like that, a snow cat appears in front of you.
Here's a list of the vehicles, animals, characters and enemies
you can spawn.
Note: If you want to bind a key to spawn something, just bring
down the console (~ key) and type "bind (key you want bound)
gimme (enemy name)" (without the quotes) and hit . So if,
for example, you want to bind the "s" key to spawn a NYC skinhead,
you would type "bind s gimme m_nyc_mskinhead1" (without the
quotes) and hit enter. When you put the console back up (~
key), a NYC skinhead will spawn in front of you every time
you press "s."

Warping To Specific Game Levels:
Want to jump to a specific level in
the game without having to play to it from the beginning?
Well here's a handy list to help you do just that. Simply
bring down the console with the ~ key (default) and type "map
(map name)" (without the quotes) and press . For example:
If you wanted to warp to the 2nd Siberia level, you would
bring down the console and type "map sib2" (without the quotes)
and press . The loading screen would appear and transport
you directly to Siberia 2.
Note: Warping to levels is not recommended if you are looking
to finish the game from somewhere other than the beginning.
The heavily scripted nature of the game makes it easy for
things to break when the game isn't played from the beginning.
Warp to levels for entertainment, not level advancement.
